Transforming Wolli Creek into a Sought-After Suburb for International Students
Wolli Creek Case Study
Prior to 2017, Wolli Creek was not on the radar for most international students.
Recognising the potential, Inndeavor embarked on a strategic transformation of the area, beginning with the acquisition of 87 apartments at 2-6 Willis St.
Despite challenges like noise pollution from the nearby train line and limited air conditioning facilities, our team deployed innovative strategies that successfully repositioned Wolli Creek as an attractive home base for young people.
In a targeted approach, our team first tapped into local Chinese media partners, advertising the suburb's direct train access to the University of Sydney. We also hired Chinese relationship managers and property promoters who were instrumental in collaborating with student agencies to showcase the benefits of Wolli Creek.
To build a bustling retail ecosystem and convenience that residents can enjoy, we also promoted the growing population and business potential of Wolli Creek to potential retailers. We focused on retailers popular with young international students, such as bubble tea shops and affordable Asian restaurants. As a result, multiple new exciting F&B and lifestyle stores opened near our residential complex and we created win-win opportunities for both the small businesses as well as our residents.
To further elevate awareness for Wolli Creek and our residential community offerings, we arranged tours for channel partners and provided shuttlebus services for University of New South Wales students for th 2018 academic year.
These initiatives led to the full occupancy of our initial set of units within one month which we later expanded to 109 units.
Today, Wolli Creek is a well-known and preferred destination for Chinese international students.
